Discovering MySQL installations
Discovery is a process that allows the MySQL connector to gather information about the MySQL installation in an environment. This action is performed in two phases: Dataset Homes (Installations) and Databases (Source Configs). It’s important to note, in the case of MySQL, the database concept also includes MySQL’s Instance structure. MySQL performs the Dataset Home discovery automatically. However, Databases (i.e. Instances) must be added manually.
When any changes (such as installing a new database home) are made to an already configured environment in the Delphix Continuous Data Engine application, an environment refresh must be performed.
Prerequisites
The MySQL connector must be installed before running discovery.
MySQL databases and/or binaries should be present on staging/target environments.
